Catholic Education Services, Catholic Diocese of Gboko, Gboko Benue State Nigeria
The Catholic Diocese of Gboko was created on 29th December, 2012 by the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI and Most Rev William Avenya was appointed the first Bishop of the Diocese. Different departments were created with Directors and Coordinators appointed to help the Diocesan Bishop. Catholic Education Services responsibility is to direct Educational
affairs in the diocese and liaise with the State Ministry of Education Science and Technology Makurdi Benue State, and related agencies.
The Diocese has 54 Nursery/Primary Schools and 39 post primary schools. Catholic Education Services coordinates the activities of the schools for effective running of the system so that the best of human and material resources are deployed for their development and maintenance.
Catholic Education is the sacred task of forming the character of a child
and aiding him/her to attain the purpose of existence.
Education is the aggregate of all those experiences that enlighten the mind, increase knowledge, foster insight, develop abilities and attitudes and strengthen the will.
